Hand-stripping is a grooming technique performed on terrier breeds with a wiry top coat. This technique is predominantly used for preserving the intended wiry texture and retaining the vibrant color of the top coat.
Though most terrier breed has a wiry coat, not all can or should be hand-stripped. Here is a list of 27 terrier breeds that can be hand-stripped, and 23 terrier breeds that cannot.
